Ambitious Ales is a microbrewery that aims to build community by providing unique beer that brings people together and a tasting room that is a hub of community engagement. 

 

Our brewery is the creative expression and passionate work of 5 friends who seek to build upon the success of the craft beer community. Our journey into the world of craft beer was built on friendship and strengthened by the support of our family and friends. We have witnessed the power this craft has to bring people together and we aim to use it as a way to connect our community. 

 

Our approach to brewing is grounded in our value as a company to push the boundaries. We reinvent classic beer styles with unique ingredients that engage craft beer enthusiasts and those new to craft beer. 

 

We have chosen to open our brewery in a 71 year-old building in the beautiful community of Bixby Knolls. The building has an iconic reputation in the community that we plan to build upon. It was important to choose the right location because community is the foundation of our business.  Breweries dating back to colonial America were gathering places where people would strengthen relationships, discuss ideas and promote community agendas. Ambitious Ales aims to reestablish the historical role of a brewery as a social connector and community asset.  We don’t just want to operate IN the community; we want to operate WITH the community.

West Coast IPA brewed with Citra, Nectaron Cyro, Simcoe and Vista 7.0% ABV 

Notes of intense pineapple, two-stepping, passion fruit, windmills, stone fruit, lawn-mowing, sweet fruit, spin kicks and citrus. Sipping on this will have you Dreaming In dog Years. 

An Homage to Jon’s Orange Painted GMC back in our adolescent hardcore days two stepping towards a wall of death during a @chainreactionca Breakthru Entertainment Local Band Showcase, almost sold out show, on a Wednesday night.

Happy Gilmore 2 watch party july 26th. event starting at 12pm

Get ready to tee off into nostalgia! We're celebrating the release of Happy Gilmore 2 with a Hole-in-One Premiere Party at Ambitious Ales on Saturday, July 26th! 

Tap it in... just tap it in. Come swing through our 6-hole mini golf course from Noon to 5pm! (Putt Putt Experience 21+)

Relive the glory days with a special screening of Happy Gilmore at 5pm, followed by Happy Gilmore 2 at 7pm with fun drinking rules!

Riverbed Bums will be cooking up some scrumptious burgers with some fun new specials!

Ice-cold beer, big laughs, and maybe even a few questionable golf swings - it's going to be a night to remember! Whether you putt like Happy or chip like Chubbs, this is your chance to channel your inner pro.

Yeah Satchel, Bring The Heat! - West Coast IPA with Haas MJF Blend, Southern Cross and El Dorado 6.8% ABV

We brewed up a new West Coast featuring some super fun hops and for a good cause! Showcasing the @haas_hops hand-selected blend by the MJF board and designed to support the foundation's mission which supports the @mjfbrewdistill mission to fund scholarship awards for people of color working in the brewing and distilling trades. Paired up with our selected @freestylehops Southern Cross and @hollingberyhops El Dorado. We are getting notes of Rainbow Sherbert, Starbusts, Cannabis with a soft stone fruit finish!

As a local brewery, we’ve always believed that being part of a community means showing up when it matters most.

With the recent ICE activity impacting families across Los Angeles and Long Beach, many of our neighbors are facing uncertainty and hardship. While we may not have all the answers, we can offer support to those doing vital work on the ground.

That’s why we are making a donation to ÓRALE (@oralelb), a trusted local organization providing resources, advocacy, and direct assistance to immigrant families in our area.

Our hope is simple: to help ensure that community members facing difficult circumstances have access to the support they need, from legal aid to emergency services.

We share this not for recognition, but to encourage others to look for ways, big or small, to stand with those who contribute so much to the fabric of our neighborhoods.

BAY DAYS

Summer is almost here and it’s time to hit the Bay with a Long Beach Super Collab for LA Beer Week! 

Bay Days - West Coast IPA with Centennial, Citra Dynaboost, Nectaron, Nelson, Mosaic and Abstrax Terpenes. 6.8% ABV

We teamed up with our good LB Friends @ismbrewing, @tenmilebrewing, @lbbeer, @syncopatedbrewing, @trademarkbrewing and @beachwoodbrewing to brew a banger of a WCIPA. Brewed with some very fresh 2025 crop NZ hops along with our selected Mosaic. We had the crew from @abstraxhops at the brewery to find the perfect complement to this hop profile and we landed on some really fun Omni Strata Terpenes! The beer is ultra zippy with big tropical notes, citrus zest and a resinous dank profile. 

Swing by our booth @labrewers Independent Beer Festival this Saturday to try it as well!

6 ft nachos! chips and cheese and nacho ingredients flying around beer can label

Why just have a Footlong Nacho when you can have Six! 

6 FT Nachos - 12° Czech Style Pilsner 5% ABV - Collab with @solarisbeer

After some hangs in Yakima for hop selection last year with our buddies from @Solarisbeer. We got to chatting about making a beer together over some footlong nachos and then another, but wanted to make it a little different! Why not make something they do so incredibly well, a Czech Pils! Using only Floor Malted Bohemian Malt, a pseudo-decoction method, and a healthy dose of 100% Czech Saaz Hops. 6 FT Nachos pours a beautifully clear gold color, showcasing marvelous foam, a soft mouthfeel and firm bitterness all backed up with a zesty floral hop character.

A three headed beast of a collab drops today and we couldn’t be more excited. We teamed up with the dudes at @Ghosttownbrewing and our good friends/neighbors @ISMbrewing to drop a big dank bomb! Super dry and clean with just enough bite, this beer is all about hops! Hopped with every variety of Simcoe and Mosaic we could get our hands on with a touch of Columbus Cryo for safe measure we are getting mega notes of Dank, Blueberries and Grapefruit!
